COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC ORGANISATION Services

For Commercial and Public Organisations

I work with clients based in the UK to create welcoming and uplifting everyday escapes; putting the wellbeing of staff and visitors to the forefront while reducing carbon and increasing biodiversity.  Is your outside space underused or not creating the right impression to welcome visitors or staff?  Do your staff prefer their own home and garden to coming in to the office? We will support you through the design process from working with you to define your brief through all the way through to providing maintenance advice. In this way we can create an outdoor space that encourages staff to enjoy coming into the office and to get out in the daylight for walking meetings, networking events, solitary work outdoors or simply to relax in a calm environment and maybe eat some lunch or have their coffee break. We can advise on planting to benefit staff and visitors through the creation of privacy, absorption of pollution and the injection of beauty into their day. My extensive architectural experience allows me to provide technical advice and coordinate with design teams with ease. My teaching as well as my prior commercial experience means I enjoy presenting to and consulting with stakeholders such as staff or community groups.

1/ Concept Phase:

Providing Inspiration from ANALYSIS

I meet with you and work with you to form a brief

I then:

  • Arrange a survey by others

  • Carry out a site analysis noting light and wind conditions, views, soil type, existing materials and plants

  • Create a Concept document that presents the brief and site analysis as well as a scaled Concept plan, along with sections , sketches and moodboard images

  • Create moodboards to discuss materials, planting & precedents

  • Meet with you to discuss these

Optional:

  • Presentation to Stakeholders

  • Multi disciplinary meetings

  • Additional drawings/ artwork/ videos

If you are not sure when you might carry out your garden design, you may consider pausing at this stage.

2/ Presentation Plan Phase

Using sketches and moodboards I explore and refine the concept design to produce a scaled layout plan, showing the kind of materials and planting that will be in each area. Two revisions of the concept design are included in my fee to arrive at this stage.

Optional:

  • Applications for permissions (planning, coordination with party wall surveyor)

  • Presentation to Stakeholders

  • Multi disciplinary meetings

  • Additional drawings/ artwork/ videos

A landscaper will be able to provide an outline or budget quote from this drawing for cost checking purposes
