RIBA registered architect with more than 20 years experience in practice
Catriona Rowbotham gained a Diploma in Garden Design with Distinction from the prestigious English Gardening School, based at the Chelsea Physic Garden. Catriona now holds the position of tutor at the English Gardening School on the Essential Garden Design Diploma, which runs 2 days a week January to March.
In training she honed a long held amateur interest in gardening into a service to help clients continue the vision of their architect to create beautiful and thoughtful external spaces. Her garden design work aims to reflect and enhance the architecture adjoining the gardens.
Celebrating the British climate by creating structured planting layouts that look beautiful all year round allows clients to connect with the seasons by looking out at the garden, even when they cannot be outside enjoying the space. Creating spaces to facilitate the art of living well has always been the aim of Catriona's architecture, and this certainly applies now to her garden design philosophy.
