The Chartered Association of Building Surveyors approached me to redesign the landscaping around their office headquarters as part of their sustainable refurbishment project by Stagg Architects, which aims to reduce carbon emissions in the building by 90%. The new landscape will create a formal garden for eating, working and relaxation, a sunny sitting spot, vibrant planting around the building with new trees to create summer shade, and woodland planting to replace the grass below the existing mature trees that surround the site. Plants around the perimeter are specified to absorb pollution as the site is surrounded by roads. See my article written for Building Engineer discussing this project in the context of wider discussions on biodiversity and biophilia here
